Several schools in Delhi-NCR received email bomb threats on Monday warning them of bombs on their premises, news agency ANI reported. According to the Indian Express, about 100 schools in Delhi and NCR have received bomb threat emails.
Sanskrit School in Chanakyapuri, Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar in east Delhi, Delhi Public School in Dwarka and Noida and Amity International School in Pushp Vihar and Saket are among the schools that have received bomb threats, according to ANI.
The police have rescued everyone in the class and are returning them to their homes for safety.
“Information has been received about a bomb in Delhi Public School, Dwarka. Delhi Police, Bomb Disposal Squad and Fire Brigade rushed to the spot.The Delhi Police stated that a search is now underway, as reported by ANI.
The administration of Delhi Public School, Noida, has released a statement stating that they have received an email containing a threat to the safety and security of the children. As a precaution, we are sending students back home immediately.”
Mother Mary School in East Delhi’s Mayur Vihar is being evacuated, and a thorough inspection of the premises is underway. A spokesperson from Amity International Schools also announced the closure for today until further notice.
Preliminary research indicates that someone has been consistently sending emails to several places since yesterday, following a similar pattern.The Delhi Police stated an ongoing enquiry is in progress as there’s no date line and the email was BCCed, indicating it was sent to multiple places.

The Union Home Ministry declares the bomb threat to schools in the city and nearby areas a “hoax”. They have advised the public to remain calm and not to panic.
The ministry stated that the police and security agencies are implementing the required measures in accordance with established protocol.

The Delhi Police said they conducted a thorough check of all the schools that received the bomb threat but found nothing.

The cyber police are currently tracking the IP address and location of the threat mail addressed to Delhi schools, which originated from a Russian website.
Investigating agencies suspect the email originated from a server located in Russia, the sources said. ANI reports that a single IP address sent the email to all schools, according to sources.
The Delhi Police’s cyber unit has also initiated the enquiry. Sources say the initial investigation shows that the email address used to send threatening emails to more than 80 schools in Delhi-NCR had a Russian domain. However, the police have not yet determined whether the email actually came from Russia.

In February this year, the Delhi Police registered a case following a bomb threat received by the Delhi Police College at RK Puram in the national capital.
In May last year, a public school in Delhi, Mathura Road, received an email bomb threat. Police called the threat a hoax after conducting searches and finding nothing suspicious.
